A Mull Nature Explorer led by Jack today. Klay headed to the Highlands to do two days of ecological surveys and Ewan went to Lunga to do a photography day in an attempt to build suitable images for the book!
Jack had a productive day with the group, managing sightings of both eagle species along with otters and Hen Harriers.
You joined Turus Mara on the 4-hour trip to Lunga and spent most of the time photographing the amazing corncrakes within the bluebell meadows! There has been an increase in sightings this year which potentially means a productive breeding year in 2024 or maybe some of the core areas now having unsuitable habitat. It will be interesting to find out more about this subject.
The puffins also looked spectacular within the bluebells and great to see twite numbers still doing well on the island.

Klay is doing a couple of days of ecological surveys in the Highlands and have a look at this Golden Eagle pellet he found... look at the size of that!
