Klay was on a tour today, running a mull nature explorer today and had a golden eagle fest, with 4 brilliant sightings throughout the day. There was a pair hunting together on the side of a glen also some interesting behaviour from one individual golden eagle collecting a large amount of nesting material !

Carrying on with the eagles, the tour also managed to see 3 white tailed eagles, with a male bird bringing back a large stick to add to the nest.

After successfully having great views of the eagles, the tour just kept getting better and better as a mum and cub otter was spotted! The guests were thrilled to watch the otters in the water feeding before they came ashore to have a good rub before moving off.

After a short drive, the tour relocated to the moors, where three hen harriers were seen quartering on the moors, enjoying the windy conditions.

Now at the coast, Klay spotted two beautiful breeding plumage red throated divers and a nice raft of eiders with grey and common seals all in the same bay!

During the day, the tour saw two types of deers, red and fallow deer, and these are the only two types which are present on the Isle of Mull.

The weather was short rain spells and strong gusts, this has been excellent to see our birds of prey at the moment, as it is easy for them to get into flight.
