A private photography tour in search of otters and raptors was lead today by Klay. The weather was warm and small gusts of winds.

The tour started the morning at the coast, with a pair of white tailed eagles landed in the trees and in the same location Klay spotted an otter hunting in the swells of the loch. The group went down to the shoreline to watch the otter feeding, right in front of the guests for 10 minutes, before heading back into the holt. What a way to start the morning, 2 white tailed eagles and great views of otters, magical !

Carrying on with the day, the next species the guests wanted to see and photograph was hen harriers, so the team headed to the moors ! Straight away they were met by two majestic short eared owls quartering along the verge and later joined by two hen harrier showing superbly, bringing food back into a nest, with some stunning flights and if that was not enough another pair of hen harriers appeared so 4 hen harriers in total.

For one of the guests, this was their first time seeing hen harriers so they were ecstatic, and the group even managed to experience a food pass, where a male passes food to the female in midair using their agility, it is just memorising. Lastly, to finish an absolute incredible day, a stunning whinchat perched on foxglove singing!

All videos were filmed by Klay, on the tour!
