The week started with more beautiful, sunny and settled weather. Jack provided a small nature explorer meeting the guests in Tobermory. The group managed a few views of WT eagles during the day, but a few of the target species proved elusive. Some species are incubating just now so a bit trickier to spot and also sunny warm weather in the uplands can make certain species less active during the middle of the day.

You and accommodated a group from the Majestic line cruise liners. It was a morning tour and golden eagle with a highlight with two birds thermaling up to cloud level! Cuckoos, red deer and harbour seals were also seen along with breathtaking landscapes and great visibility.

After the tour, Ewan saw a report of Mandarin duck down at Salen so he headed down and enjoyed views of the Drake, which is the second record for all and the first male to be recorded!

Klay went to Lunga today with Indy and the highlight was three or four corncrakes rasping from the bluebell meadows!
