Klay was on a private tour, while Jack had a Mull Nature Explorer tour. Klay met his guests early in the morning and immediately spotted an otter at the meeting point. The otter was just fishing in the small waves of water. What an incredible way to start the tour, we all wish every tour could start like this!

Driving to the next location, Klay spotted another otter, and the tour watched it hunt for a couple of minutes. The weather started to take a turn for the worse with constant large squalls, but the otters were absolutely loving it. They saw another dog otter, but unfortunately, it was in a tricky position to park. Still, it was very nice to see.
The rain kept coming, but so did the otters. This time, we had wonderful views. A female otter was hunting in the shallows, mostly bringing in crabs and some butterfish. Usually, otters eat their prey in the water if it's small like crabs, but this one brought everything to the shore. This unusual behaviour meant the tour had some astonishing views of a beautiful female otter.
On Jack's tour, he also had success with otters, spotting three in total. They had great views of the otters hunting and even coming onto the shore. One otter came onto the shoreline and sprainted on the rocks before returning to its holt.
Klay's tour included a short walk where they saw shags and harbour seals diving just offshore. They also spotted a flycatcher in the woods catching some prey. There were some nice flowers to look at, especially the carnivorous plants like butterwort and round-leaved sundew.
Just a quick note: Klay's guests managed to see an elusive pine marten before they even got to the meeting point in the morning. How amazing is that! Lastly thank you to the guests as the weather was very tricky today and perseverance was needed and luckily both tours reaped the rewards of amazing wildlife.
