Ewan and Jack had full day private tours today, and we both picked up our guests from Craignure.
Ewan accommodated to guests from the United States, and we took a long walk in the morning to enjoy your wide range of diversity. We did lots of tree identification, wildflowers and birdsong. Blackcap and wood warbler were among the best songsters, along with fallow deer spotted a couple of times. Wildflower species included heath spotted orchid, yellow pimpernel and common butterwort.
Into the afternoon, we did another woodland walk and heard chiffchaff, cuckoo and crossbills. WT eagles were seen later on in the tour before we finished back at Pennygate lodge. Ewan stayed on to photograph the amazing wildflower meadows in the garden, showing a great example of how you can have tidiness and structure in the garden space while keeping wildflowers blooming to help the wider biodiversity.
One of the highlights of Jack's tour was a WT eagle hunting goals over a freshwater loch! Other sightings included golden eagle, yellowhammer and red bunting.
