Klay was leading a Mull Wilderness Explorer today, undertaking two walks in the central part of the island. On the moorland walk in the morning, they managed to see h harriers, wt eagle, r deer and also an emperor moth caterpillar, pictured. Green haristreak butterflies were on the wing, along with marsh fritillaries.

Ewan and Stuart G provided a complimentary songbird session as part of the 'wildlife & wellness' series. They were joined by 6 guests (all locals) and a large mix of songbirds were heard and seen during the morning as we tried to help with field ID skill along with championing these magical birds ...

10+ Crossbills (predominantly juvs - probably two family parties?) feeding high up in Scots Pines; and two singing Spotted Flycatchers.

Eight Crossbills (family parties?); singing Garden Warbler, C Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Redpoll, Siskin and Goldcrest. A pair of Bullfinch, family party of Long-tailed tits, and Wood Warbler in song.

Look out for future 'wildlife & wellness' sessions coming soon!
