The weather has taken a sudden turn, and for the next week, the west coast of Scotland will enjoy some warm and calm weather! To kick off the nice weather, it is great to welcome back Theo to the tour. He must have brought the weather with him.

On Theo’s four-hour private tour this afternoon, the first spot we drove to had some majestic red deer stags with full antlers, giving incredible views just by the roadside. What an excellent way to start a tour!

Then, arriving at the first spot, Theo managed to spot a distant Golden Eagle sitting on a high ridge above the Loch, looking very impressive as the eagle scanned its territory. Also on the loch, there were some Harbour Seals enjoying the rays as they sunbathed on an island, looking like sausages.

After a great start to the day, the momentum just kept on coming with an unbeatable otter sighting. The otter was feeding tight against the shoreline and on surface weed before drying off and falling asleep tucked away in the seaweed. The views through the scope were just magical, and Theo even managed to capture a video of a large dog otter.

Then, it was just one of those days. After a short drive, about two hundred meters further down, we saw another otter fishing ten meters from the van—spectacular views.

After all this wildlife, the tour needed a break. It was such a wonderful start, so the group settled for a cuppa and a walk down the narrows. On the walk, the tour spotted more red deer and four kestrels on the ridge before yet another dog otter appeared below them and swam out into the channel.

To finish off a remarkable day, a pair of king and queen Golden Eagles flew in tandem along the ridgeline above. What a return for our Theo! Such an amazing tour with some incredible sightings, especially the otter views—just mind-blowing!
