We are starting to run low on sun lotion already as we have another day reaching mid 20s degrees C!

Ewan and Indy headed for the hills to check a key area for any breeding ptamrigan evidence. Small PB fritillaries and green hairstreak butterflies were seen on the way up and after a long hot slog to get up to 700m high, they started scouring the scree in search of one of the island's rarest birds. It is always positive to see evidence of the birds with droppings and feathers discovered. After two hours of effort, they did not find any grouse, but a couple of nice mountain hare sightings were good to see.

Klay and Jack had Mull Nature Explorers today and some nice raptor action again at active territories inc golden and wt eagle. The midday heat continued to prove some challenge, with sightings of some of these uplands species tend to hunker down in these higher than normal temperatures. No otters seen around the coast on the day, as there continues to be a correlation between hot days and less daytime otters being active.

Common spotted and Marsh spotted Orchids seen out in flower now.
