Weather: Bright and a moderate breeze with little cloud.
Theo's tour:
The day started with Fallow deer in the woods and a lovely juvenile Golden Plover feeding close by. Next stop we had Grey Seals and a Juvenile White-tailed Eagle sat out on the reef.
Further down we spotted 3 WTE and 2 Golden Eagles over the far skyline before an Otter popped up on the rocks in front of us all too briefly before heading into the water and vanishing as they sometimes do!

At our lunch spot we had 4 WTE's flying overhead together.
Further down a Golden Eagle appeared above the ridge. It flew down the ridge, landing in an old dead oak tree! Managing to park up and wandered closer we had great scope views. It flew off along the near hillside spectacularly joining another Golden Eagle higher up and both birds soared together. 4 Kestrels were alarm calling and circling below.
Our next stop yet more Golden Eagle action when 2 birds appeared over the ridge. A few Red Deer were feeding not far away on the grassy slopes.
Onto the moorland we watched a Buzzard and 4 Ravens over a cup of tea before a hareem of Red deer wandered over the hill with a big Stag in attendance. Driving along, Theo spotted a distant Golden Eagle across the Glen. We drove round to the other side of the Glen and eventually re-found it perched up spectacularly lit up in the afternoon sun with another Red Deer herd close by. A great finish to a Golden Eagle filled day!
Klay's tour:
We started the day with beautiful views of an adult White-tailed Eagle over the sea loch. A Slavonian Grebe also. Clear skies and strong winds made perfect conditions for raptors, with more young White-tailed Eagles soaring overhead.
A stunning Fallow Deer buck appeared in the forest, before an immature female White-tailed Eagle swept low across the loch and landed close by – a real highlight. A pair of Golden Eagles rose effortlessly on the ridgeline lift.
On the water, we enjoyed excellent views of two Great Northern Divers, one still glowing in summer plumage, followed by a striking Red-throated Diver on the Sound of Mull. An Otter feeding in the bay kept us entertained, while flocks of waders and ducks completed the scene.
The day finished in style with yet more White-tailed Eagles soaring over the Sound.
